White Balance
During this session we gained an understanding of white balance and its purpose in media craft work.
White balance is what allows the digital camera to make colours look more true to life. By using the correctly adjusted white balance white and blacks should both look correct instead of being too hot or cold (orange or blue). For example when shooting in midday sunlight the correct white balance would be around 5600k. White balances is given in Kelvin which is a measure of temperature. We experimented with different environments and what the white balance should be set at by using white balance paper (white and black).
