Interview Framing
During this session, following some more classroom learning, we put into practice our skills in interview framing (especially in an indoor environment). When we did this practical we only had one camera for our group where other groups had more than one. Looking back, more than one camera is vital as it allows you to film more than one subject at once such as the interviewer and interviewee without constantly having to constantly move the camera. The two main framing techniques we practiced were wide angle and close-up. A wide up shot is ideal when getting shots of two people in the same frame and setting the scene of the interview while close-up shots are best for getting the expressions and reactions of those being filmed and creating an immersive viewing experience.
